The Dark Gemini was completed on July 4th, 2375 and passed final inspection on July 5th. She was constructed at the Umbral Shipyards in the Schatten Star System. The ship is designed as a combination of small transport and mission scout ship. The primary objective is for the ship to fly to areas where potential military, political, or economic problems are brewing, assess the situation so that Solas Tempus and the Serenity Concord can make a concrete determination. Solas Tempus and the Concord will also occasionally use the ship to transport personnel or scout military targets for vulnerabilities.
Additional Capabilities
The ship has some additional modifications made to enhance it's abilities in the role of a mission scout ship.
- Enhanced Communications Array
- The communications array is enhanced and capable of receiving and processing far weaker signals than a typical ship of this class.
- Ablative Hull Armor
- Cloaking Device
- The cloaking device can be used and coupled with the communications and sensor systems in a passive way, though when active the cloak is less perfect and may be subject to detection at very close range.
- Enhanced Sensor Pallet
- Some of the enhancements to the communications systems cross-apply to the ships sensors, which are especially configured to detect small variations in subspace and electromagnetic energies for nearby and at a distance.
- Enhanced Transporter Array
- The transmission and reception capabilities of the array are significantly enhanced by the advanced sensor pallets and communications systems.
