Recent mission to Outpost J29 was undertaken after request for assistance from Starfleet. A team of 4 was dispatched to the outpost and met with Starfleet representatives aboard the USS Dynamo. Mission ended with recommendation for Starfleet to put the outpost on lockdown and fill the station with toxic gas before sealing off every entrance. Station destruction was not recommended.

Brief

The station's crew experienced a series of deteriorating psychotic breaks resulting in the death of the entire crew. The psychological deterioration began 4 days prior to teams arrival. By the 2nd day a distress call had been sent to Starfleet Command and they dispatched a team. The initial team sent by Starfleet reported that boarding the station was dangerous and produced extreme psychological trauma within hours. Unable to find a cause, they requested assistance from Solas Tempus.

Green Team dispatched a team of 4 to the site. The team confirmed that the crew was growing increasingly psychologically unstable. While the initial distress call requested immediate evacuation from the station, when the initial team arrived the crew refused to leave. The response team from Solas Tempus entered the station wearing full protective gear and began to see psychological deterioration within the first 47 minutes. Team was recalled. Minute traces of an unknown type of subspace field were detected on all the returning team members.

Over the next week 5 more attempts were made. Physical descriptions of the station crew confirm a cursory diagnosis of prolonged psychotic episodes. Crew became more and more paranoid and also more and more interested in forcing the response team to stay aboard the station. Several attempts were made to block the team from returning. Attempting to return from the 5th attempt caused the station crew to attack the response team.

Response team was recovered.

Seven days later the stations crew was torn limb from limb by an unknown force. The response team detected extreme shifts in the subspace field local to the station with pockets of anomalous space moving about the interior.

The anomalous readings aboard the station increased over the following week to dangerously high levels of subspace distortion. Cause is still unknown.

Recommendation

After careful examination it was concluded that if the station was destroyed the subspace anomaly within it may break apart and be free to move about space. While its nature is still not understood it is theorized to be the events cause. Recovered records indicate that the crew of the station had begun to study anomalous readings within the station prior to psychological breakdown.

Solas Tempus recommended to Starfleet that the station be sealed and its interior filled with a mix of toxic gasses which act on all known forms of life.
