Outpost J29 Incident Report

From Solas Tempus DB

The recent mission to Outpost J29 was initiated following a request for assistance from Starfleet. A team of four was dispatched to the outpost, where they liaised with Starfleet representatives aboard the USS Dynamo. The mission concluded with a recommendation for Starfleet to place the outpost under lockdown, fill the station with toxic gas, and seal all entrances. The destruction of the station was not advised.

Brief

The station's crew suffered a series of escalating psychotic breaks, culminating in the death of all personnel. The psychological decline began four days before the team's arrival. By the second day, a distress call had been sent to Starfleet Command, who dispatched a team in response. The initial Starfleet team reported that boarding the station was perilous, causing severe psychological trauma within hours. Unable to identify the cause, they sought assistance from Solas Tempus.

Solas Tempus' Gold Team dispatched a team of four to the site. The team confirmed the crew's increasing psychological instability. Despite the initial distress call requesting immediate evacuation, the crew refused to leave upon the team's arrival. The Solas Tempus response team, donned in full protective gear, began to experience psychological deterioration within the first 47 minutes. The team was subsequently recalled. Minute traces of an unknown type of subspace field were detected on all returning team members.

Over the following week, five more attempts were made. Physical descriptions of the station crew confirmed a preliminary diagnosis of prolonged psychotic episodes. The crew's paranoia escalated, and they became increasingly intent on detaining the response team aboard the station. Several attempts were made to prevent the team from leaving. The crew attacked the response team during their fifth attempt to return.

The response team was safely recovered.

Seven days later, the station's crew was gruesomely dismembered by an unidentified force. The response team detected extreme fluctuations in the local subspace field around the station, with pockets of anomalous space moving within the interior.

The anomalous readings aboard the station increased over the subsequent week to dangerously high levels of subspace distortion. The cause remains unknown.

Recommendation

After thorough examination, it was concluded that the destruction of the station could potentially release the subspace anomaly within it, allowing it to freely move through space. While its nature remains unclear, it is theorized to be the cause of the events. Recovered records indicate that the station's crew had begun studying anomalous readings within the station prior to their psychological breakdown.

Solas Tempus recommended to Starfleet that the station be sealed and its interior filled with a mix of toxic gases lethal to all known forms of life.
