This is the 2nd vessel for which Solas Tempus has constructed themselves rather than refit from an existing space vessel. The Ishtar began construction in 2377 as the initial design prototype being build from the ground up at the Ronin Shipyards. Initial testing was done under the registry of TOV-X2. Prototype testing was completed in June of 2379 and the ship design was finalized later that year. In 2380 the vessel was put back into dry-dock for a complete check of all systems to verify that during the testing process there was no systems mismatch between original prototype and finalized designs.
As of February of 2381 the vessel was re-registered as TOV-101 being the first vessel in the fleet to pass its experimental testing after construction and put into major service. The vessel was waiting a command crew, slated to begin service in May of 2381. When the STV Vertigo was destroyed defending the Blazing Umbra Station the vessel was already prepared for service but a command crew had not yet been selected.
On the orders of Fleet Admiral Candy Poole, Admiral Lance Thomas was assigned as his commanding officer with a new executive officer, Captain Leroy Arden.
Experimental Drive System
The vessel is equipped with an experimental new drive system which has seen field use as a part of smaller vessels, the Gravitational Displacement Drive. The drive system was a last-minute addition to the vessel and has been tested to work in all trials but has not been throughly field tested.
Augments
The vessel has been authorized to use Temporal Weapons under the authority of Admiral Thomas, which are not in the standard designs.
