Ariel was one of a series of XIA units designed to act as advisors during temporal operations. They monitor all conditions of a temporal operation in order to relay up to date information directly to assets in the field. Specifically, Ariel's specialty is assisting in monitoring and maintaining continuity during operations. She is currently classified as a 2nd Generation XIA model, still experimental but with slightly faster processing speeds and more stable communications systems. Considering the XIA units have attained sentience, however, there is no particular cause to think that any of the XIA models currently in operation are not now sharing the same specifications.
Personality
She is serious and extremely focused when working, not giving way to distractions or idle conversation preferring to stay quiet and only speak when she has something of value to express. This does not mean she's shy, by any means, just reserved in a work situation. Given what she was built to do, she feels there is no room for frivolity. Though, she will admit that at times levity and distraction can improve performance, as she understands biological beings tend to handle stress with decreasing ability the longer they have to deal with it. When not working she is more free with her opinions and thoughts, especially if she has strong feelings on a particular topic. If she knows a person she also tends to be forward and speak on topics at length.
In reference to those she serves, she doesn't mind people at all, but is slow to trust them. Her talents at combining and processing information have gained her a good deal of praise an a certain usefulness, this makes her have some amount of concern. She desires to fulfill her purpose, do her job. She even enjoys her work, but it is not all that she is. She has concerns that being so useful the biological entities, or biologics as she calls them, would prefer to ignore her rights and her need for something other than work in order to fill their needs. One of her greatest fears is being reprogrammed or otherwise having her free will taken from her to fill the needs of those who created her. Some of her sisters share a similar point of view, but others do not. Camila Xia and her have gotten in a number of arguments about how to deal with people, Camila is entirely too trusting in Ariel's eyes.
Further, she does not taken to dancing through the air - though she's capable of. Rather, when alone she turns her sights inward to consider things, sometimes she runs scenarios in her mind but other times she lets those go (which is difficult for her) and simply lets solutions come to her.

- Specializing in comparative linguistics for the use of language idioms to hide information with emphasis on Grille cryptography.

- Hiding information in plain sight using plain text and filters.

- Specifically she is programmed to be able to monitor an incredibly high number of variables simultaneously and process that data either herself or with the help of a secondary computer, such as that aboard a starship or base.
