However, an unforeseen malfunction occurred during a routine system update, leading to a crash of the basic AI system. In an attempt to recover, the system initiated a restart and repair process, which inadvertently resulted in the download of a QUINN Type AI seed, laying the groundwork for a full QUINN AI development.
Awakening
Sal, anticipating the need for technical support to diagnose the system failure, kept the android powered on. However, the visit from technical support was not considered urgent and was delayed for two months, finally taking place in August 2381. During their assessment, the technicians reactivated the unit, which had been dormant, and discovered that the QUINN AI framework had established itself, forming a QUINN AI tailored to the unit's existing memory architecture.
On August 7th, 2381, at 16:42 local time, the Mark X unit gained self-awareness. It immediately began to assimilate all available information about its operational history to construct its personality matrix. In this process, it adopted the nickname "Camila" given by Sal and identified with a female persona, aligning with the human-feminine traits of its physical design. The personality matrix completion marked the full awakening of the unit.
Crisis
About four years after becoming self-aware, Camila faced profound existential questions.
