Schatten System Forces

There are a number of Solas Tempus / Serenity Concord forces operating in the Schatten Star System, which has become a major military outpost.

Starships

There are 2 battle groups in the system, which form the Schatten Defense Fleet.

1st Schatten Defense Force

The 1st defense force for the Schatten System is largely made up of the vessels that were already present, which accounts for its non-standard composition. Organized now into a battle group, it has been reinforced with smaller escort vessels to compliment the larger number of frigates in the system already. The group was formed on June 29th, 2381 under orders from Fleet Admiral Poole is preparation for a major reorganization of forces overall. The mandate of this group is to defend the Schatten System against any and all hostile forces, patrolling within the star system.

2nd Schatten Defense Force

The 2nd defense group was made up largely of the leftovers after building the 1st fleet, a total of 8 escorts were added to the sector to reinforce the existing 4 frigates and the new command vessel, to be commanded by Admiral Thomas, the USS Excalibur. This group's task is to reinforce not only the 1st battle group but also patrol the surrounding space, which is one of the reasons it is so much larger than the first. The escort ships are tasked with providing security to trade vessels coming or going, and may not all be in the system at the same time.

Patrol Wings

These wings define the organization of all the patrol craft within the system and their support squadrons.

3rd Orion Wing

The primary patrol wing for the sector, based out of the Blazing Umbra Station. There are a total of 111 craft in this wing.

9th Gemini Wing

This is the secondary patrol wing for the system and is based out of the Nysa Facility. There are a total of 142 craft in this wing.

Interceptor Squadrons:

  • Sigma 2

Assault Squadrons:

  • Theta 1
  • Omega 2

Interceptor Wings

The main interceptor wing is spread throughout the system to offer the most coverage for a swift response to any threat.

4th Hermes Wing

This wing is spread throughout the Platform Stations in both the asteroid belt and surrounding space. Each station contains at least one flight group and is ready to respond to any detected threats in its region. The force is composed entirely of interceptor squadrons with the designated Epsilon squadrons 1 through 6. There are a total of 90 craft in this wing.

Assault Wings

Assault wings are designed to deploy in a 1st strike / counterstrike capacity. They are slower and less maneuverable than other vessels but are loaded with heavier weapons and capable of being deployed at greater distances and with great autonomy.

7th Poseidon Wing

The 7th Poseidon Wing is based out of the Blazing Umbra Station and contains assault squadrons Lambda 1 through 6. There are a total of 126 craft in this wing
