The Miranda Class is classified as a destroyer, designed in the early-mid 23rd century. One of the earliest ships to begin Starfleet's refit processes of updating existing fleet designs, the same initiative that lead to the Constitution Refit Class Starship. For a mixture of destroyer and light carrier duties, with two large shuttle bays in the rear which can be defended by the rear photon torpedo pods. The original design was in wide use until the mid to late 23rd century where this design was refit into the Miranda Refit Class Starship design.
