Their base-race is human (homo-sapien) but through either direct evolution of an isolated population, genetic manipulation, or any other means (including magical), they are no longer entirely human. Vampires and were-creatures are not included here, nor is a human-variant race that has it's own dedicated name (such as Kitsune).
