Template:Ranger Class

Vertigo is an experimental vessel, the first of the new Solas Tempus Ranger Class. She is designed to be operated by operatives going into dangerously uncertain situations throughout the timeline. So far the Vertigo is the only ship of her kind. Commissioned from the Ronin Shipyards in 2377. The ship is equipped with the very latest in technology to travel through time, research an as yet unknown threat, and combat that threat.

Her computer core allows her to operate autonomously from human interaction and the HAL 9000 system allows that the vessel can potentially effect the completion of a mission without assigned additional resources, even if the crew is incapacitated.

Auxiliary Craft

The ship has two launch bays at the rear. Each one has a an auxiliary craft in it.

Destruction

During the battle of Soteria the Vertigo was lost. Admiral Thomas intercepted a large warp-capable missile before it could impact the station. The Vertigo could not lock on a tractor beam to the missile and in a last ditch effort rammed the missile at full impulse power. This act lodged the missile in its hull, the plan was to push the missile away form the planet and station while attempting to disarm it.

During the action 20 people were lost when the Vertigo exploded during a forced planetary re-entry after the missile devastated the hull of the ship.
