The Angel of Io is a newly commissioned [[Defiant Class Starship]] awaiting assignment at the [[Umbral Shipyards]] in the [[Schatten Star System]].  Construction was completed on July 2nd, 2385 and she passed final inspection on July 7th of that year.  In November of 2385 she was assigned to to Captain [[Charlotte Lewis]] one of the first sentient AI officers to be admitted after the [[ALFRE]] act was ratified into law for the Concord.
