These garrisons can be anywhere from a platoon to a battalion in size, and fall outside the Marine Expeditionary Force structure as they are purely defensive garrisons who rarely if ever leave their stations. Marine Force Reconnaissance (FORECON) is the primary multiversal fighting force of the Corps. They are equipped for long-term asymmetrical operations in other universes, conducting aggressive deep-field reconnaissance and eliminating any threats that may endanger research or exploration teams that follow them through the gate. When not in other universes, FORECON also handles reconnaissance for FMF. They're organized into 4 battalions of about 480 Marines stationed in each Expeditionary Force.
