Vera is a loving and agreeable person, she's generally kind hearted and practical. She stays very calm under pressure, able to stay aware of herself and her situation under stress. She can be a bit dramatic and has a habit of being blunt with people, something that has not always made her friends. She's chivalrous and cares deeply bout others. Personally she can be very rebellious when pushed into a corner but professionally she has learned to work within the system, she enjoys the freedom given to her by her rank to sometimes buck back against the rules.
Professionally, Vera values creativity and a willingness to think outside the box. She cultivates this in those under her command. In her opinion, the worse thing you can introduce into a tense situation is someone who doesn't know how to think for themselves. Personally she is drawn to people who have a deep curiosity int he world around them. She dislikes people who can't see beyond the obvious. She likes a bit of whimsy and wonder in her world and cultivates relationships with those who provide different ways of looking at things.

History
Vera was raised on Europa with loving parents who were both scientists for the United Federation of Planets. They studied plant biology and although they lived in a domed structure, their space was alive with all manner of planets. For a long while Vera wanted to follow in her parents footsteps. As she got older, however, she wanted more out of life and initially signed on to a cargo vessel so she could see different parts of the galaxy. She found a sort of wanderlust there and didn't want to go back home. As a young woman of 21 years, she found herself on the wrong side of a boarder when the Dominion War broke out. Solas Tempus rescued her and several others who got stranded behind enemy lines when the Cardassian Empire fell and the Dominion took over. When the ship was attacked, several of her crew was killed. Vera found herself at the helm of the ship trying to help save their lives! When it was all over, Vera was offered a commission in Solas Tempus and accepted it.
