Background
Taren is a scientist, researching the properties of Splices. He is also a fairly well-known game designer, who created a video game featuring Alyssa as the main character. A few months ago, he was forced to watch one of his adoptive brothers, Chris, get thrown through a Splice. One day, though, he saw an alternate Chris, exploring the planet. They struck up a conversation, and Taren and his other brother, Percy, decided to join Chris and Alyssa on the Blazing Umbra Station.
