Fuse is a sharp-witted, street-hardened teen with quick hands and quicker instincts. She thrives on unpredictability, trusting few and relying mostly on herself. Years of scraping by in the shadowy lower decks have left her suspicious of kindness and wary of authority. Despite a gruff exterior and a self-serving streak, she holds onto a quiet hope that life could be more than survival—though she’d never admit it aloud. Her impulsiveness often brings trouble, but her adaptability usually sees her through. She believes trust is a currency too expensive to spend.

Background

Born in the neglected Subbay District of Oasis Station, Seyla Darrin—nicknamed "Fuse"—never had much of a chance at a normal life. Her mother died in a containment breach when Seyla was just 8, leaving her to survive on her own. She fell in with a ganglet known as the Gutter Snakes, where she picked up her nickname for her temper and knack with sparking old tech.

When the group broke apart, she continued on alone, slipping through ducts, looting neglected corners of the station, and keeping off the radar of authorities. At 17, with adulthood and mandatory registration looming, Fuse lives one moment at a time—dodging patrols, stealing meals, and dreaming of escape. She doesn’t know what future she’s after, only that it’s not this.
