The Emerald Dragonfly completed construction on July 15th, 2386 at the Umbral Shipyards. She is a long range scout vessel built for minimal crew. Soon after construction the AI Jules Bordel was selected as the ships MSAI and assigned temporary command pending vessel assignment. Jules completed the shakedown cruise July 17th, 2386 and all ship systems are operational. Her sister ship the STV Sapphire Hornet was also completed on the same day.

As of June of 2387 the ship was assigned to Admiral Lee Armstrong Finnegan, as per the instructions of General Order 12.

Constructed with the new VAM Enhanced Sensor Pallet designs. The Emerald Dragonfly was outfit specifically to serve as a covert operations vessel, sensors are equipped with specialized long range sensors to home in on extremely weak signatures. The ships transporter and communications systems are also enhanced.
