Solas Tempus Marine Corps

From Solas Tempus DB
(Redirected from STMC)

Authorized by an executive order of the Serenity Concord on March 26th, 2384 the Solas Tempus Marine Corps (also referred to as the STMC, the Corps, Marines, or Hornets) are the front line fighting force of Solas Tempus and the Concord. The first platoon of 40 people were assembled shortly after the order was signed, and Fleet Admiral Lance Thomas enlisted the assistance of arrivals to the Schatten Star System shortly after to train the new marines. Officially the STMC falls under the command of Blue Team or the Action Arm of Solas Tempus commanded by Mike-037 promoted to the rank of Admiral after the disappearance of Vice Admiral Apollyon left the Corps without a commanding officer. The Marines operate closely with the various fleets that fall under the Serenity Concord, specializing in both orbital boarding action and conventional ground warfare.

STMC Sections

Fleet Marine Force

Fleet Marine Force (FMF) makes up the bulk of the Marine Corps. The 8 Marine divisions fall under FMF. They handle all major infantry operations in tandem with the other sections listed below. While FMF can operate as an independent entity, the STMC has been planned around a combined arms strategy to ensure redundant support and contingencies across all fronts of a conflict. A Marine infantry division is organized as follows:

  • Marine Divisional Headquarters
    • 1st Regiment
      • 1st Battalion
      • 2nd Battalion
      • 3rd Battalion
      • 4th Battalion
      • 5th Battalion
    • 2nd Regiment
      • 1st Battalion
      • 2nd Battalion
      • 3rd Battalion
      • 4th Battalion
      • 5th Battalion
    • 3rd Regiment
      • 1st Battalion
      • 2nd Battalion
      • 3rd Battalion
      • 4th Battalion
      • 5th Battalion
    • 4th Regiment
      • 1st Battalion
      • 2nd Battalion
      • 3rd Battalion
      • 4th Battalion
      • 5th Battalion
    • Marine Battery
    • Mechanized Brigade
    • Sustainment Brigade

Fleet Marine Security

Fleet Marine Security (FMS) are separate from the primary Fleet Marine Force, (FMF) making up the many garrisons of Marines providing security to Serenity Concord military vessels, bases, and installations. These garrisons can be anywhere from a platoon to a battalion in size, and fall outside the Marine Expeditionary Force structure as they are purely defensive garrisons who rarely if ever leave their stations. The largest of these garrisons is FMS Hornet's Nest, the security force that defends the Solas Tempus Marine Corps Headquarters.

Marine Force Reconnaissance Battalions

Marine Force Reconnaissance (FORECON) is the primary multiversal fighting force of the Corps. They are equipped for long-term asymmetrical operations in other universes, conducting aggressive deep-field reconnaissance and eliminating any threats that may endanger research or exploration teams that follow them through the gate. When not in other universes, FORECON also handles reconnaissance for FMF. They're organized into 4 battalions of about 480 Marines stationed in each Expeditionary Force. A FORECON battalion is organized as follows:

  • Marine Force Reconnaissance Battalion Headquarters
    • Alpha Company
      • 1st Direct Action Platoon
      • 2nd Direct Action Platoon
      • 1st Reconnaissance Platoon
      • 2nd Reconnaissance Platoon
    • Bravo Company
      • 1st Direct Action Platoon
      • 2nd Direct Action Platoon
      • 1st Reconnaissance Platoon
      • 2nd Reconnaissance Platoon
    • Charlie Company
      • 1st Direct Action Platoon
      • 2nd Direct Action Platoon
      • 1st Reconnaissance Platoon
      • 2nd Reconnaissance Platoon
    • Delta Company
      • 1st Direct Action Platoon
      • 2nd Direct Action Platoon
      • 1st Reconnaissance Platoon
      • 2nd Reconnaissance Platoon
    • FORECON Scout Sniper Platoon

Fleet Marine Raiding Force

Currently not open, undergoing a prototyping phase and being evaluated by Marine HIGHCOM. Intended to be a conventional special operations section, designed for maritime fighting. (Boarding action, starbase/stardock capture, HVT operations, hostage rescue, sabotage, etc) The planned organization of a Raider battalion would theoretically be as follows:

  • Raider Battalion Headquarters
    • Alpha Company
      • Marine Special Operations Team Alpha-1
      • Marine Special Operations Team Alpha-2
      • Marine Special Operations Team Alpha-3
      • Marine Special Operations Team Alpha-4
    • Bravo Company
      • Marine Special Operations Team Bravo-1
      • Marine Special Operations Team Bravo-2
      • Marine Special Operations Team Bravo-3
      • Marine Special Operations Team Bravo-4
    • Charlie Company
      • Marine Special Operations Team Charlie-1
      • Marine Special Operations Team Charlie-2
      • Marine Special Operations Team Charlie-3
      • Marine Special Operations Team Charlie-4
    • Delta Company
      • Marine Special Operations Team Delta-1
      • Marine Special Operations Team Delta-2
      • Marine Special Operations Team Delta-3
      • Marine Special Operations Team Delta-4

Armored Battalions

These battalions are made up of tank crews and their vehicles, with one in each MEF. These are split in half, with 2 companies of 25 tanks each stored aboard each Fi class carrier. They supplement the infantry forces of the Marine divisions with mobile fire support, with a focus on covering infantry rather than fighting battles on their own- taking lessons learned by splices from other universes and their own experiences with tank formations. Marine Armored battalions are organized as follows:

  • Marine Armored Battalion Headquarters
    • Alpha Company
      • 1st Platoon
      • 2nd Platoon
      • 3rd Platoon
      • 4th Platoon
      • 5th Platoon
    • Bravo Company
      • 1st Platoon
      • 2nd Platoon
      • 3rd Platoon
      • 4th Platoon
      • 5th Platoon
    • Charlie Company
      • 1st Platoon
      • 2nd Platoon
      • 3rd Platoon
      • 4th Platoon
      • 5th Platoon
    • Delta Company
      • 1st Platoon
      • 2nd Platoon
      • 3rd Platoon
      • 4th Platoon
      • 5th Platoon

Support Wings

The Marine Support Wings are wings of transport and attack craft that are rated for both atmospheric and space. The purpose of the section is in the name, providing transportation, fire support, and resupply for Marines on the ground and in orbit. There are 4 wings, 1 for each of the Expeditionary Forces spread throughout the Concord. Each wing is comprised of 100 transport craft and 60 attack craft. Organization is flexible and changes depending on the operation at hand.

Standard Implants

Marine service is voluntary but requires the use of cybernetic implants, particularly a standard set.

Organization

The STMC is sorted into 8 divisions, which are sorted into 4 Marine Expeditionary Forces. Each MEF is supported by an armored battalion, a support wing, a Force Recon battalion, and soon a Marine Raider Battalion. (The Fleet Marine Raiding Force is still being discussed by the upper echelons of Marine High Command) Supplementary to the primary Fleet Marine Force is the Fleet Marine Security. These are garrisons of Marine organized into individual units depending on which STMC vessel, camp, or installation they serve aboard. Their goal is to provide security for the vessel/installation. The current STMC structure is as follows:

  • Solas Tempus Marine Corps High Command
    • Fleet Marine Security
    • I Marine Expeditionary Force
      • STV One For the Money
