Mia Appleshire, a strong yet vulnerable girl, endured a troubled upbringing in an abusive home. Her life took a mysterious turn at the age of 16 after attending a renaissance fair, leading to her sudden disappearance. Contrary to assumptions that she may have run away, her friends remained skeptical, believing there was more to her vanishing. In her final known appearance, Mia was notably seen wearing an Aurora Crystal around her neck, a rare and unusual item for someone her age, hinting at the extraordinary circumstances that were to unfold in her life.

Home Life

Mia was frequently abused by her father. Though no allegations were made it is very likely that her father rented her out to his friends shortly after her 12th birthday, using her as entertainment for poker games and the like. Her close friends in school noted that while she never spoke of it they were aware of talk around town about her father and parties he would have. On numerous occasions her two best friends, Peggy and Violet, got her to stay at their homes for sometimes months at a time. There are no medical reports which back up the the claims from Peggy and Violet that her father abused her, and so no charges were ever made.

On June 5th in 2014, Peggy gave an anonymous tip of Mia's father giving her drugs in her food to make her more pliable once she began resisting. Though Peggy continues to assert that this was true and did happen, the police filed it away as a prank.

History

Mia Appleshire's life story is one marked by adversity, transformation, and ultimate sacrifice. Born on January 19th, 2002, in rural Pennsylvania, Mia grew up in a troubled home, suffering significant abuse from her father. A student at South Valley High School, she was perceived by her peers as strong, yet deeply affected by her challenging home life. Her life took a mysterious turn on September 9th, 2014, when, at the age of 12, she attended a renaissance fair. Separating from her friends, Mia was last seen with an older male. That night, her presence was noted at home, but by the next morning, her father was found in a state of psychological shock, and two of his associates were dead under bizarre circumstances. The only coherent words from her father were about a "man with the glowing eyes."

Disappearance from 2014

On September 9th, 2014 Mia attended a renaissance fair with her friends. Splitting off to find a bathroom, Mia was last sighted behind the site with an older male, looking to be in his mid 20's or early 30's. Later that evening, neighbors report that they heard her talking in her bedroom but never saw her. The next morning her father was found in a state of complete psychological shock, two of his associates were found dead, strangled, in BDSM gear in Mia's room. The father is still alive, medical examination revealed that his genitalia were burned and damaged beyond repair by an unknown chemical agent.

The father is currently a ward of the state under psychological observation. The only things he will say are that the man with the glowing eyes told him he didn't deserve to have a daughter. Often he repeats the phrase "man with the glowing eyes" to himself during the day. At night he screams that and related phrases calling out for his friends to get out, to leave, before they are killed.

No evidence of Mia or an unknown male were found anywhere in the house. Neighbors report that no one but the father and his two friends came or went the entire night and that no suspicious vehicles were sighted the entire day.

= Last Sighting in 2015

Mia was last sighted at a beach in New York state. She was alone, dressed in revealing victorian style clothing, sighted with a collar of some kind around her neck and a jewel in the form of a pendant around her neck. When approached, she was friendly and said that her Master would be there to get her soon. Since she was obviously very young, the police were called. Mia has not been seen since, but she did have a map of the New England coast line.

Reports are that her physical condition was good, no sines of abuse, bruising, or other signs of physical mistreatment. In fact one person who spoke with her, noted that she was a delightfully friendly young woman, though admitted being somewhat upset by the girls use of the word Master to describe the man who was to be picking her up. Commenting further that kids say the strangest things, and it was probably a nickname by some punk rocker musical type.

Time with Lance Thomas

Mia Appleshire's life story, intertwined with that of Admiral Lance Thomas, reached a pivotal moment when she found refuge aboard his spacecraft, the Solar Nomad. This encounter provided an escape from her traumatic past and propelled her into a life filled with interstellar and temporal adventures. Her journey, however, met a tragic end during a catastrophic event involving the Vertigo. In these final moments, Mia demonstrated remarkable bravery and quick thinking. She assumed control of the crashing ship, selflessly ensuring Lance's safety by beaming him to the Solar Nomad. Despite her valiant efforts to control the descent, Mia tragically lost her life in the crash. Her extraordinary courage and willingness to sacrifice herself for another's safety left an indelible mark of heroism.

Final Letter to Lance Thomas

This is an audio transcript of her final message dictated into the computer while the ship was headed into Earth's atmosphere in a partially phased state:

This is probably the last time I'll get to speak to you. I've sent you to the Solas Nomad; you're safe now. I don't have much time. The ship is going down, and there's nothing more I can do to stop it.

I want you to know, Lance, that being with you, being part of this incredible journey, has been the greatest adventure of my life. You showed me a world beyond anything I could have imagined, a life filled with wonders and possibilities. For a girl who thought she had nothing, you gave me everything.

Remember, our time together wasn't just about escaping my past; it was about building a future, a dream. Hold onto that dream, Lance, and keep moving forward, for both of us.

I love you. And that love is something this crash can't take away. It's ours, forever, across time and space.

Goodbye, Lance.
