Mark 2D Active Repair Drone

From Solas Tempus DB

This drone is a more rugged and utilitarian version of the standard utility and repair drone. Unlike the Mark 1D Active Repair Drone, this drone has a reduced function set and higher density duranium shell. The higher density shell allows the drone to withstand direct high energy and plasma discharges without significant damage. Designed to be a repair drone for combat situations, it was not intended to replace the Mark 1D or the Mark 1S devices, rather supplement these repair systems for greater efficiency in combat situations. In particular, this drone is highly effective at sealing hull breeches, power conduit ruptures, and repairing armor plating.

Tools

Molecular resolution transporters designed to beam into place replicated materials from an external source.
  • High capacity manipulation arm
Designed to grab hold of and manipulate materials which need to be welded into place.
  • Material storage area
A material storage area located at the rear of the drone allows it to store and then use otherwise unusable fragments of materials during repairs, this is a low power alternative to the [[[Replicative Repair Beam]]]].

Onboard Computer

The onboard systems are controlled by an ECC, the system is desired to be moderately automated but directed with a larger command and control system, such as the Mark 1 Active Repair System. They are not self-aware and do not achieve sentience.

Repair Operations

These drones are specifically designed to auto-deploy to damaged areas to performed repairs coordinated by the engineering department or Operations Officer. With the installation of the active repair system, their operations are more targeted. Primarily the drones are designed for repairing larger items where the Mark 1S Drone would be less effective.

Repair Priorities

This drone is specifically programmed to repair hull breeches, armor integrity faults, and other similar problems as quickly and effectively as possible even while under fire. The drones will also use themselves to protect and take fire for other repair drones, using their durability to assist other devices in completing their tasks with minimal damage.
