Background

In the depths of the foreboding Dark Aether, where malevolence and wickedness thrived, there existed an ogre who would one day call himself Klink. One fateful day, as Klink was scouring the aftermath of a gruesome battle, his greedy eyes fell upon a lifeless, armored corpse. Driven by his insatiable desire for plunder, he began rifling through the fallen warrior's possessions, tossing aside the blood-soaked armor and weaponry. Among the loot, he discovered an oddity that would change the course of his life forever - a set of blackened, grimy smithing tools and a peculiar book filled with intricate illustrations.

Unable to decipher the words within the book due to his illiteracy, Klink turned to the images, studying them with his massive, rough hands. His immense fingers clumsily grasped the tools, and he began to mimic the motions depicted in the illustrations. At first, the results were laughable, but Klink's determination knew no bounds.

Over time, a peculiar transformation occurred within the ogre's heart. As he continued to experiment with the tools, he managed to fashion a simple nail. The accomplishment sent shivers through his massive frame, and he realized that, for the first time, he had created something rather than destroyed it. The passion for crafting began to smolder within him, a flicker of light in the darkest of souls.

As fate would have it, the boundaries between the Dark Aether and the material world began to weaken, and one day, Klink found himself unceremoniously transported to the land of Elder Soteria. Surrounded by bewildering landscapes and bewildered creatures, he felt like an outcast. Yet, his newfound desire to create instead of destroy remained undiminished.

Driven by his determination to become a master of the craft, Klink embarked on a journey to find someone who would take him in as an apprentice. Fully committed to his newfound purpose, he took on the moniker of "Klink the Klinky Klanker," as the only words he knew to describe his ambition were the sounds the hammer made when striking the anvil.
