The Nebula Class starship is primarily used by the United Federation of Planets and Starfleet in the late 24th century around the same time as the Galaxy Class Starship.
The vessel is designed as a potential replacement for the Miranda Class Starship as a general purpose science, exploration, and combat command vessel. Featuring a mission specific module located above the primary (saucer) hull. Usually this is fit with a multifaceted weapons, sensor, utility module for a wide variety of generalized mission objectives without having to undergo refit at a space-dock.
