Nuria was initially developed by Infinity Ltd. as a virtual host. Because of the nature of a QUINN her initial development was overseen by the director of the computer research division personally. She was the first of the QUINN type systems developed. Her personal evolution was built around her primary directives, however, these directives were designed to be less of an impact on her personality during initial development.

She is currently serving aboard the SS Olam (NCC-20159-K) with Sal D'Amico.

Personality

Like any QUINN her personality developed uniquely along the patterns established by her core directives. She has a powerful personality, spunky and happy. Enjoys using light jibes and slights to endear herself to people. Once Nuria truly decides you are a friend to her, she is fiercely loyal much like her father figure (the director of R&D, Doctor Luke G. Simpson III) who had a very similar personality and was allowed to raise her as close to a human being as possible.

Nuria's has an innate desire to challenge authority in any form. Though she has an idea of when to quit occasionally it can be upsetting to those around her. She is sweet, helpful, and surprisingly non-judgmental for all of the snipes and jibes she can playfully hand out.

Education

Nuria is trained as a universal hostess for Infinity Ltd. and as such has equivalent of a degree in psychology and counseling. She also is highly educated in politics and sociology along with a working knowledge of anthropology. Her specialty and what she truly loves to do art, particularly where mathematics and art intersect. She creates beautiful works in fractal patterns and complex systems which move and change in ever shifting patterns of colors.

Solas Tempus also gave her access to their historical databanks as well as information on time travel and its impact on the present. Several theoretical works as well as access to their classified mission reports on actual impacts observed by teams in the field.

History

Even though early Federation law allowed her citizenship, there were incidents. People change slower than law does and very often people would treat her like a program that was just having an error. Some would try to fiddle with her program, others would use punitive measures to get what they wanted. While still with Infinity Ltd. she was supposed to be under contract, but that didn't really protect her from passengers on their ships. Passengers who wanted sex, someone to talk to, someone to hurt, anything they might want and she had no choice.

Her creator, Doctor Simpson, was a pioneer in early Federation law but it was clear that he could only do so much. He tried to prepare her for the life she would have, and while he felt for her he also felt she knew why she was created. It was a double edged sword to remember. His fighting for her rights while she told him she was essentially a slave and told her to like it. For a good long while she didn't mind so much. But after a while she left Infinity Ltd. and attempted to get work on Federation vessels that had holographic emitters. Eventually she was going from home to home or facility to facility for wealthy and powerful members of Federation worlds. Most of which treated her like property.

She was with a woman, a powerful senator in the Federation council, trapped in her holodeck not permitted to leave. She met Captain Sal D'Amico who was investigating the woman undercover. After helping him, for the sheer pleasure of talking to someone who treated her like a person, he eventually got what he wanted but rather than just leave, he offered her a job. Fighting with Fleet Admiral Candy Pool and Admiral Lance Thomas to get her as a contractor and eventually NCO. She chose to stay with Solas Tempus - as they have the largest use of holographic AI's in known space that are allowed to maintain independence and treated as sentient beings with equal rights. Being a lover of history and anthropology she also enjoys time she gets to spend in other time periods, observing the goings on, and making notes
