Background
Abigail Eleanor Campbell was born on a small planet in the outer rim of the galaxy, in a family of Starfleet officers. Growing up, Abby was fascinated by the workings of the human body and the intricacies of medical science. Her parents encouraged her passion, and at a young age, she was already devouring medical textbooks and conducting her own experiments.
When Abby was old enough, she joined Starfleet's medical academy, where she quickly excelled. She proved to be a brilliant student, earning top marks in all her classes and impressing her professors with her natural talent for surgery. After graduation, Abby was stationed on a Starship that traveled to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, where she encountered all manner of exotic diseases and injuries. It was here that Abby developed her reputation as a resourceful and innovative doctor, always finding new ways to save her patients' lives.
Despite her successes, Abby's perfectionism and workaholic tendencies sometimes caused friction with her colleagues. Some felt that she expected too much of them, pushing them to their limits. She eventually burned out before she could achieve her goal of being a chief medical officer aboard a Starship. She suffered a nervous breakdown after losing three patients in the same day on a mission she'd personally approved. The stress of her perfectionism and the friction with her peers along with her feeling she had to do everything herself proved too much for her.
After several years of counseling and rehabilitation, Abby wanted to return to being a doctor but Starfleet had lost its appeal. It was all linked to her former self, a self she never wanted to be again. With that she join Solas Tempus. After several years serving aboard various ships in Solas Tempus she finally achieved her goal of being the Chief Medical Officer of a starship, the USS Continuum.
