The Red Ghost project is an experimental project designed to assigning a specialized AI escort to high value / highly dangerous prisoners and operatives either captured by or even working for Solas Tempus. The AI escort is implanted into the body of an individual and connected directly into the central nervous system at the base of the brain stem as well as connecting into the Temporal, Occipital, and Parietal lobes. This gives the AI access to all sensory data from the individual as well as access the ability to inject information into the sensory stream of the individual.

Purpose

In general terms the project was designed to provide trained psychiatric and security assistance to highly dangerous individuals. Primarily focused on prisoners who require the strictest of monitoring even within a high security facility or those who are agents / operatives for the Serenity Concord and Solas Tempus but have behaviors or tendencies which would otherwise make them unable to perform their functions. The AI escort is assigned to the individual and resides within a Multinodal Core implant. The AI maintains a connection with the network and can thus attend to themselves normally outside of the implant while remaining connected to the individual they are escorting.

Practice

In practice the AI escorts are encouraged to form a close bond with the person they are escorting but not to interfere if it can be avoided. By design, the AI is unable to take over or control the body of the individual but can feed sensory information into their conscious and subconscious mind. Mainly this is used to provide audio-visual stimulus for interaction, though it can also be used to provide cognitive behavioral assistance and biofeedback as needed.
