Leon is gentle and sincere, these simple traits dominate his personality. He tends toward pacifism with an almost child-like interpretation of the world around him. He is outgoing and very sure of himself in most situations, there is also an eagerness to please that many find endearing. He is observant and very tolerant toward others. He's almost always cheerful and respectful, though he does not deal well with people disrespecting him. He's dutiful and takes personal responsibilities very seriously. Sometimes he can express himself inappropriately but nothing to get him into any major hot water. With his boisterous attitude he makes friends easily.

History
As a young man Leon grew up on Earth and it was paradise, even later in life he would often look back to his childhood in Ireland with hope and wonder which let him feel those things for the larger world. Leon was a naive child at times, often getting teased for not seeing the world in its entirety. This child-like wonder and naivety followed him into his adult life.
After high school Leon considered joining the United Federation of Planets but was drawn to seek his adventure elsewhere. It was a big universe and he'd heard about what Solas Tempus did through older friends who had joined the Federation. So as soon as he could he joined Solas Tempus with the hopes of becoming a Temporal Operative. Leon excelled at his coursework in the Academy, he found he had love of acting and particularly of improvisation.
Once he graduated from the Academy he applied to be a Temporal Operative and passed his exams with fly colors. Once out of the program he graduated as a Temporal Operative with the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade at the age of 22, one of the youngest. Going on missions he was noted as having a genuine way with people and getting help without entangling himself in the local situation too much. Even with the stress of the job Leon was known as an up beat and positive young man, often helping his colleagues with their problems dealing with the job.
On the first mission where he was given authority on the team going down to the planet, Leon found himself in 1981 on Earth. A routine mission to gather some information on a few odd occurrences in the timeline in Los Angeles, California. Leon lead his team into a small bar in one of the poorer sections of the city. When trouble broke out, Leon ordered the team to leave one by one and stayed behind to make sure everyone got out safely. Leon himself was killed by a stray gunshot to the head, the gunman had meant to shoot another patron in the bar fight but missed and hit Leon instead.
Leon's death was keenly felt by everyone on the team, especially since just before going into the bar he quieted the concerns of one of his teammates about the place they were going with his usual optimism about human nature. The after-action report specifies that Leon made the correct call about going into the bar and getting his people out when trouble broke out. An inquiry cleared Leon of any blame in the incident.
