|
Jessie is a good person, or tries to be. He is honest to a fault and trusting of others. He is extremely confident in his own abilities, so much so that he often comes off as pompous to people that don't know him. He can be vulgar at times, when he lets his hair down, and at times this gets in the way of work as part of a team. Jessie is very diligent, throughout, and conservative with respect to rules and procedures -- though he is not afraid to make things up as he goes along when the situation calls for it. He tends to be unhappy, struggling with issues of depression at times. Most will say he's sweet but somewhat muted in day-to-day life.

Background
Jessie grew up in a military family, his father served in Starfleet as an engineer aboard the Diligent working under Captain Blaire and his mother was a security officer aboard the Potemkin. Both of his parents shared time with him, but he spent most of his time aboard the Diligent with his father, where he had a strong aptitude with engineering, especially electronics. He joined Starfleet as soon as he was able to. He became an Engineer on the Resolute under Captain Triste and saw significant action in the Dominion war, where he lost his leg in combat and received the Starfleet Medal of Honor, saving the lives on everyone on 3 shuttles providing cover fire for their retreat. He was also awarded the Star Cross for his innovative ability to use the damaged impulse control system from his shuttle to control and power the weapons systems of the otherwise disabled defense platforms.
Jessie spent almost 3 years in rehabilitation and learning to use his synthetic leg. During which time he left Stafleet, feeling he'd seen enough combat and feeling unsatisfied with the organization after hearing about the incident with the Baku in the Briar Patch. A year later he joined Solas Tempus and became a Temporal Operative and eventually Chief Eningeer of the USS Continuum under Captain Faust.
