Special Skills

  • Psychology knowledge
  • Psychiatry knowledge
  • Polyglot - capable of speaking and reading Romulan, Ferengi and Federation Standard. Can only write in Romulan

Special Abilities

  • Colonial Organism - She is not a singular organism but instead a colony of different organisms performing the needed functions of a larger organism, Her intelligence is not centered in a single organ but spread out amongst all the organisms as a collective consciousness,
    • Poly-mimicry - Capable of altering its form to mimic the general look of organisms that are similar size. Not a perfect mimic will always have blue skin and aquatic features in any form.
    • Biological Integration - Capable of using specialized organisms within her colonial body to integrate outside organisms into herself. Integration of higher cognition organisms is risky but does allow her to gain most of the organisms memories.

Background

T’Lar was originally subject 47215. A creation of a clandestine Romulan laboratory outside of Romulan space. It was isolated, maintaining complete radio silence and being resupplied and communicating via predetermined dead drop locations. The facility had successfully created T’Larr and a few other designed organisms. They weren’t intended to be anything other than tests of the biotech that the Romulans had developed. The experiments were all earmarked to be terminated after various tests had been run. T’Lar proved its capabilities when a mistake in the transport of her led to her contact with another subject. She promptly ate and partially integrated the other experiment into herself. This led to a few more “tests” where other experiments were fed to T’Lar to both get rid of them and observe her ability to integrate organisms into herself. It was noted that with every organism integrated she didn’t just grow in size but also intelligence. The scientific staff started to write a petition to extend the mission in order to fully explore her abilities. As they sent the shuttle to drop off the message they were hit by a large meteor shower that destroyed the shuttle and damaged the station. An attempt to repair base systems in the aftermath led to a severe radiation leak from the matter-antimatter reactor and a general evacuation of the station via escape pods. A few scientists and base personnel managed to shut down the reactor but could not restart the reactor. With limited supplies, especially breathable air they cannibalized most of the base to keep the living quarters and a section of the labs operational. Solar panels ensured a small amount of power, enough for life support systems but proved insufficient for a signal of sufficient power to be sent out. Little by little the crew started succumbing to starvation. Unknown to them T’Lar had survived the chaos and followed the survivors into the living quarters. She kept herself hidden and ate mostly organic waste and some scant rations when she could. Even as the survivors started starving she refused to approach for fear of the retaliation. Eventually when the last of the survivors were too weak to move she started scavenging some of the corpses. Moving eventually to eat some of the dying survivors. One of the survivors was the station’s psychiatrist, she started at the head, cracking it open and interacting with the brain matter. She soon integrated most of the brain tissue into herself then proceeded to eat the rest. From that survivor she gained a great deal of memories and knowledge including the name T’Lar. Recoiling from the experience she waited too long and was not able to integrate the other survivors before they expired. Eventually she ate all the corpses and went into a state of suspended animation.
