She serves as the primary holding and diplomatic facility of the Serenity Concord within the Schatten Star System. Construction began in 2382 only a month after the destruction of Blazing Umbra Station. Command was given to Captain Neo Akazuli, but the station is most certainly a civilian facility, with a minor military presence. It serves as way-station, cargo stop, and trade outpost for the Schatten Star System. The 2nd in command is a civilian, Secretary Gina Armstrong who works directly for the government of the Serenity Concord and acts as liaison with Captain Akazuli to see that the civilian government and military machine stay on the same page. Within the station she has just as much authority over general operations as Captain Akazuli and generally manages most civilian matters on the station. Akazuli himself runs the military presence on the station and manages incoming and outgoing space traffic.
Facilities
The station has a small shuttle bay, capable of holding 4 shuttle craft or 2 runabout class vessels. It has a large manufacturing capacity and cargo capacity. This makes it ideal for trade and other areas of commerce. Almost all commerce with the star system takes place on this station. Other than landing facilities it has a promenade for shops and restaurants along with sports and other recreation areas, though it does not have holodeck facilities. There are medical facilities on board, but they are minimal. Any major medical issues are transported down the Nimbus Station as soon as possible.
