The Phobos was constructed at the Umbral Shipyards in the Schatten Star System, construction for this ship completed on December 26th, 2385. In April 2386 the vessel was assigned to Commander Crystal Favor.

Initial Construction

Initially constructed December 26th, 2385. Designed for reconnaissance and defensive deployment, she was constructed with additional armaments.

• 10 Plasma Pulse Turrets

Fitted to the saucer, 5 dorsal and 5 ventral. They retract into the hull and are shielded from scans until deployed. They are situated forward, port, starboard, and 2 directed aft situated on either side of the hull and on the ventral side and the weapons pod support pylon on the dorsal side.

• Experimental Deflector Point Defense System

The primary shield grid is outfitted with additional power to the beam deflectors used while at warp. In addition to providing a static deflector shield, the beam system has been modified with an experimental point defense system.

Testing Service

From December 2385 to April of 2386 the vessel served limited deployment in actual service while the experimental systems were tested. In April of 2386 she was cleared to go on active duty pending her first refit.

First Refit

In April of 2386 the vessel underwent additional refitting prior to Crystal Favor taking command. The experimental point defense system was updated with a more reliable version and the shielded plasma turrets were updated with additional high powered transfer taps. The new design allows the turrets to draw power directly from the M/AM reactor and impulse fusion reactors.
