There are no stellar objects in this system. There are no potentially habitable worlds in this system. The star's stellar wind creates a bubble, known as the heliosphere, which extends out to approximately 119.2596 AU. Beyond this, the star's gravitational influence extends out to a distance of 1.87 light-years, marking the ultimate edge of the system.

Former Contents of the System

Prior to its destruction, the Schatten System was a curious region designated for its intense spacial instability. It formerly contained an Ort Cloud and a barrier of massive spacial distortion, along with an extremely dense asteroid belt and five planets.

The system's innermost planets included Vethania, a Class B world with a moon named Leere, and Yalia, a small Class C world. Both of these inner worlds, along with the dense asteroid belt located further out, were completely obliterated during the stellar collapse.

Further out lay Soteria, the primary habitable Class M world of the system. Beyond Soteria was Dilea, an unusual Class I gas and ice giant, and Eter, a bitterly cold Class P world that housed an Avali colony. All of these celestial bodies, their moons, and the asteroid belt were entirely vaporized by the relativistic surface blast and subsequent supernova.

What Happened

The system was completely obliterated in a catastrophic, unprovoked assault. The attack commenced when a 2.35-kilometer-wide beam of Quark-Gluon Condensate breached subspace, bypassing all defenses. The beam struck the system's blue giant star, triggering violent gravitational fluctuations and forcing a full stellar collapse. The massive spacial distortion barrier that once surrounded the system was breached by this initial beam and subsequently scoured by the system's supernova.

Rather than exploding immediately, the star's mass was augmented by the beam, causing it to violently contract and shrink in seconds toward the size of a neutron star. This catastrophic implosion blasted its entire outer surface away in a concentric sphere traveling at relativistic speeds, which was followed immediately by a full supernova detonation.

During the stellar collapse, the system was simultaneously flooded with unknown, warp-capable ordnance that systematically dismantled the system's infrastructure. While Soteria was destroyed in the supernova, the surviving population and fleet managed a desperate evacuation, utilizing Nimbus Station to jump to the sanctuary planet of Kenoma in the Xanthon Star System.
