Completed in 2387 and specially built for Lance Thomas, the Galaxy Class Starship is the flagship of the fleet.
Modifications
- Specialized Stealth Technology
- Energy dampening field generators in key areas, focused and calibrated to prevent sensors from detecting any energy signature from long distances.
- High output subspace field generators which can mask the interior of the ship from being scanned.
- Mimic energy signature of other vessel types of similar size.
- Mask all life signs on the vessel without obscuring non-living components.
- Nanite-Infused Hull Armor
- Hull is infused with nanites which are capable of rebuilding the armor after damage at a predictable rate. The nanites are a custom type, specifically made to regenerate hull armor. The hull has a particularly dark and smoother texture than a normal hull appearance.
- Jump Point Generator
- Type 3 Stargate
- Hermes Gate Enhanced Communication System
- Tertiary Power Grid
- A third power grid which ties directly into auxiliary and emergency power systems, made to be a lower-capacity grid as to be small enough to be difficult to detect even when operating.
- Enhanced Bio-Neural Circuitry
- This next generation of the standard bio neural systems uses a basic neural network design running in parallel as cells of a whole working together. Each bio neural gel pack is a single part of the whole system, increasing processing power by an order of magnitude.
- Protected Computer Core
- The main computer core has dedicated temporal shielding and power reserves tied into auxiliary generators, this prevents it from being altered by changes in the timeline.
- HAL Primary Hub
- Ships computer core contains a primary HAL / BlueNet hub, which gives it priority access to the network. A primary hub supersedes all other hubs in the immediate area.
- Enhanced TDE Core
- The vessel not only is equipped with a Dimensional Fold Drive, but also has a temporal core and functional / upgraded Time Displacement Engine or TDE. While not as precise as the DFD, it is capable of pinpointing a location as small as a baseball in another time to displace safely.
Background
The vessel began construction in construction in 2385 after the return of Fleet Admiral Lance Thomas, built to be the new flagship of the fleet and intended to be commanded by Fleet Admiral Lance Thomas. In 2387 construction completed and she was ready for her initial shakedown cruise by May. Admiral Thomas insisted on personal inspections during and after construction and he oversaw the first 3 shakedown cruises and subsequent refits to match the ship with his performance expectations. The final cruise completed in June of 2387, in according with orders from Admiral Thomas the strange move of having the chosen crew of the vessel perform the shakedown cruises, leaving the vessel ready for service. Normally a shakedown cruise does not finally crew the ship during its first official voyage. Admiral Thomas wished the crew who'd be working with it every day to be the crew that helped build it. As such many of the building and engineering staff actually have positions throughout the vessel, by design. It is safe to say that they know the ship better than most crew's know any ship.
