Background
Magistus was born from the marriage of two adventurers. His parents had moderate wealth from their exploits and so when Magistus showed magical aptitude they signed him up to become an apprentice mage. Once again he separated himself from his peers as he took an interest with religious scripture and the musings of priests but without becoming religious himself. He insisted that there was something more within the texts that others missed despite being unable to say exactly what it was. As he grew his eccentricities became more pronounced and his conflicts with others increased. He would be labeled a problem child and had a strained relationship with his parents.
Finally at the age of 16 he cut off all ties with his parents and mentors. He resolved to find his own way and make his own name for himself. He became a wanderer and petty mage, shunning his surname and keeping only his given name. Another change was that he started dabbling in turbid control over magic. Throughout his travels he tried to collect local versions of history, studying them for a time before making sense of them through his own unique perspective.
For him it seemed that when things were in motion and dynamic that was when the greatest amount of beauty shone through and conversely that objects in static could only ever degrade and lose beauty. He went to the Tempest Hills to meditate all that he learned. After months of meditation and isolation he achieved a breakthrough. He would be an agent of change, to make what seemed like a stagnant world move once more. However before he could start his crusade he needed to grow in magical aptitude and experience, otherwise he would never be able to achieve his goals.
