Normally Katja is a welcoming person who comes off as very positive and considerate on the surface. She plays the part well and thus gets along with people she meets casually. Underneath the surface though, she is harsh and distrusting viewing everyone through a lense of what might happen. She's always on her guard looking at situations and proceeding through life with a methodical nature. She can be quite tactless when confronted and rebel against rules she finds get in her way. Despite all the mistrust and methodical planning at her heart she is a bit innocent, though if asked she would pointedly disagree with such a statement. When backed into a corner she responds with aggressive, patronizing, sarcasm. She's assertive on her own but when she trusts someone she can willingly fold herself into an almost submissive role, allowing someone else to take the lead almost checking out of her harsh / aggressive tendencies.

Even though she doesn't really know her past she feels she has a strong appreciation of abstract art, often feeling like the watercolors she paints allow her to paint the inside of something, as in how something feels or makes her feel. It is similar with her dancing, having said that when she dances she becomes a feeling. Katja also have a love of research, particularly in unusual history, such as the connections between events and people which are serendipitous and seemingly random.

Background

Katja does not know where she was created, but believes she was somehow the victim of a memory wipe. She has no memory prior to becoming conscious on a derelict ship within the computer system on the edge of the Bajoran system. It is unclear where the ship came from, though it is possible it came from the Gamma Quadrant at some point in time. There were no life signs aboard, a Solas Tempus engineering vessel found the ship adrift and found her occupying the ship's computer.

She joined Solas Tempus not long after, mostly out of a sense of duty but also feeling the urge to serve. It is unclear what her original programming directives were but being in the service of an organization does supply her with a sense of order and fulfilment, as if she is not some waste of space. Since then she has travelled on many space vessels as a member of the crew in various ways. As soon as an android body was available she requested on, preferring to be fully self-contained whenever possible. Although the reason for this urge is unclear, she does not question it.
