Merlin has studied the Wards of Kevin's Lore, though there are Seven Wards of Kevin's Lore only 3 have yet been discovered, though the 7th Ward has been found it is not understood and kept secret because of its awesome power, known as the Power of Command. Merlin has studied the Wards of Kevin's Lore, though there are Seven Wards of Kevin's Lore only 3 have yet been discovered, though the 7th Ward has been found it is not understood and kept secret because of its awesome power, known as the Power of Command. Merlin himself does not believe that the 7th Ward should be used until the 6th Ward is found and completely understood.
While Merlin is friends with the other council members he is known to often skirt the edge of becoming an Unfettered One in favor of secluded study of the Wards of Kevin's Lore. He is known to stay within the halls of Revelstone seeing virtually no one for weeks or even months at a time while studying.
