Cyclops (talk) 22:30, 12 June 2020 (PDT) The images of this vessel is the Stratios from Eve Online. The dimensions of the ship are not specified by the game but it has a volume of 101 cubic km, which gives a way to roughly estimate its size. I figured that it was roughly about 3 times as long as the ring is wide, since the ring is a circle it gave me a rough estimate of a size. This is a low-ball figure but about 16 km wide at the ring (diameter of the ring). That is just way entirely too large. Talking with Dasfier we figured it should be a bit bigger than the Steamrunner Class Starship since that is, in Federation terms, a "fast frigate" and he wanted it frigate sized.
I figured the ship is about 6 times as long as it is wide at the main hull and the ring is about 3 times as wide as the hull. These are clearly not precise but I wanted to give a reasonable idea of proportion. I based the sizes on a length of 350 meters and tweaked the end values so they were not exactly matching that proportion.
Finally, I came up with the crew capacity by figuring the ship could have a reasonable amount of its volume taken up by crew living quarters be about a third. Then I split it by decks, so 45 meters wide, roughly symmetrical at the main hull so 45 meters tall. A deck roughly 10 feet tall gives me about 10 decks. I then used the average studio apartment square footage to calculate a third of the square footage of a given deck would house about 11 crew quarters with bathroom, kitchen, desk, table, and 2 bunks per room. Thus 2 people per room and 22 people per deck and 220 people on the ship. This is, again, a rough estimate and one assumes that there are nicer rooms for officers and smaller bunks for crew. The ship is not perfectly shaped either so it's a bit of a fudge but it seems a reasonable number of people.
