- The Dark Heart of Chaos
- A magical staff gifted to her by her father the Duke of Chaos, the Dark Heart of Chaos has a few recorded instances throughout history, described as a magical staff made of what appears to be metal or metallic wood of some sort, with a purple glowing central core, the dark heart of chaos has a variety of abilities and powers all centered around creating, chaos in all it’s forms, ranging from destruction to pure madness. As such the Dark Heart of Chaos can takr many forms and seems to only comply with one force, Seraphine Lovecrest her sister and her father.
- Leap of Faith
- The first and most well known of the staff’s abilities allows the user to open a portal or teleport, but rather to a specific location it works based on distance, while the user may have a location in mind, they will actually transport somewhere the same distance from where they are to their target location, they could go where they wanted or be even further from their target destination.
- Dark Lightning
- One of the lesser known spells available to wielders of the staff, this launches out a cone of life and order draining lightning from the end of the staff in the target direction this black lightning, absorbs, light and life energy from the affected area, leaving a section of barren wasteland in its wake.
- Echos of Dissonance
- There’s two parts to this ability granted by the staff, first while in the hands of a mortal, they will hear soft and silent whispers, including any speech from Seraphina directly if she desires, however it also will urge them to use the staff, even for mundane things, this gives it a chance to corrupt the mortal wielder the more they use it. The second part is an active part in which the staff when used, emits a shockwave and soundwave centered around it. It’s often described as a maddening set of screams, yells, roars, and various tones and noises intended to confuse and disorientate people in the given area... it can even cause them to lose all sense and reason and become animalistic in their behaviors given enough exposure, those holding the staff or those the wielder / owner does not wish to affect will be unaffected.
- Dark Prism
- The last ability of the Dark Heart of Chaos, the dark prism, using life energy, light and other energy sources absorbed via the dark lightning, it can produce a powerful dark prism, a dark shield of light and power around it’s wielder to protect them, it absorbs energy from the surrounding area, and from various attacks, when enough energy is absorbed through the prism shield, the energy is refracted and dispersed in all directions, maximizing destruction and chaos. The more energy used the larger the prism. At the same time rumor has it that when engaged physically there’s a psionic effect to be had on attackers, causing them to fall down clutching their head with madness or sometimes laugh uncontrollably
Background
Born and raised almost millenia ago as the daughter of the demon known as the Duke of Chaos, Seraphina is one of two succubus sisters, born of the union of the Duke of Chaos and the Duchess of Despair, Sera and her sister enjoy toying with the lives of mortals, even at a young age, Sera made a name for herself as a succubus and as a Highborn, she manipulated mortals into going to war, for anything, wealth, power, influence, land, seeking immortality. And the older she’s gotten the more powerful she’s become. She’s very professional and business-like in most cases, writing contracts, dictating terms and making deals, promising, gold, money, wealth, preying on mortal insecurities, whispering sweet nothings into the ears of politicians, and spreading corruption and her own influence world wide. She enjoyed the chaos she brought and usually always got what she wanted... at least she did, till one Admiral Lance Thomas started getting involved in her business, upsetting her careful plans.
She went to confront the Admiral in the early days of his career and she underestimated him, while the battle left both damaged, she would retreat for a time, after that she hadn’t been seen or heard from for some time. Recently however she’s returned with a vendetta against the Admiral, and upon learning he has a family now, she began enacting a plan to put the Admiral in his place and keep him there, while also tormenting him but to do that, she’d need the help of her sister... and the subject of Lance’s daughter... one Arlette Myriam Thomas
