The STV Widow Maker is the first successful design for the new class of the same name, she was the 5th build attempt for construction of a vessel with such advanced and intricate power systems. She was built for the express purpose of covert maneuvers to sneak up on and disable enemy targets before they can raise alarm or even be aware they are under attack.

Service History

2383: Ship begins construction, designated as Widow Maker X-5 after the loss of X-4 in a catastrophic antimatter containment collapse.
2384: Ship construction stalled while several design elements of the power system are refactored for safety reasons.
Construction resumes in December.
2385: Construction complete, maiden voyage shows power systems are stable and further testing on the X-5 is approved.
Initial tests require minor refits to address problems in the propulsion systems.
Final testing completes on May 12th, ship is designated as the STV Widow Maker with registry number STX-105.
Final crew selections take place in July and ship is deployed to the Schatten Star System in early September.
