The 22nd century successor to the EM-33 Plasma Pistol was the new and improved Phase Pistol. Operating similar to its predecessor it fired a compressed phased nadion beam. This was really the first weapon used the theories and technology which later would become the Phaser. The beam was not as pure as later Phaser models nor was it as easily controlled. Truly it would be more considered a crude disruptor by more modern standards.
Settings
The weapon has 2 settings readily available of stun and kill. They are incapable of vaporizing a human target the way a phaser can. With internal modifications energy settings can also be customized to the megajoule but such a calibration required specialized knowledge.
Effects
Also unlike phasers or plasma weapons the pistols leave injuries closer to electric shocks causing effects to the body as if being hit by a tazer or conventional stun gun. While the pistols can be set for cutting this is not standard operation.
Large Installations
These hand based weapons were also expanded on with greater power and control to be used on space craft with the same principle on a larger scale
