TC-2378.04.21-2029.01.03

From Solas Tempus DB
(Redirected from Operation Touchstone)

In April of 2378 a series minor temporal signatures were detected. The signatures were traced back to Earth just after the start of World War III, specifically 2030, 2032, and 2034. Three distinct but low-energy focal points for temporal change. While no major violations of the timeline were detected, evidence strongly suggested that a temporal infarction of some kind had occurred.

The USS Genesis (NAR-29) was assigned to investigate going back to 2029 to establish surveillance on key locations. Solas Tempus had already recorded a number of potential temporal anomalies. Establishing surveillance the Genesis identifies that the Harlo Anomaly located 3 km to the North-East of Yavirnyk, Ukraine. In the beginning of the war the Eastern Coalition captured the region several times through the locals managed to fight them off on 3 separate occasions. The Genesis was tasked with preventing the Eastern Coalition or the locals of using the anomaly.

Evidence

A team found that in the woods near the anomaly several items were placed where they might easily be found. These items were contained in a leather satchel and included a leather-bound notebook written in the local language as well as several loose papers also in the local language. These papers detailed different ways in which a person might experiment with or potentially use the anomaly as well as how to more specifically detect it.

Results

The mission found that such items were placed not only in the forest to be found but also similar materials were in the hands of both the Eastern Coalition as well as the the New Reaman Alliance. While the team was unsuccessful in identifying the source of these materials it was decided that a continued covert placement was required to ensure the anomaly could not be further used.
