Mercury Tetralithium Crystals

From Solas Tempus DB

A crystal with the potential to produce Lygon Particles useful in creating an artificial gravity well. The crystals produce lygons when a strong plasma field is applied, the lygon field produced is then controlled by adjusting the crystal orientation and frequency / strength of the plasma field.

Use in Matter/Anti-Matter Reactors

The crystal has multiple uses, when placed in a Matter/Anti-Matter reactor the crystals can be used similar to Dilithium Crystals to regulate the Matter/Anti-Matter reaction. The high energy particle beams from the Matter/Anti-Matter injectors causes the crystals to form a Lyon particle field and create an artificial gravity well. The electro-plasma produced can then be saturated with Lygons and routed through a vessel, either to reinforce the ships artificial gravity / inertial dampening field or to the ships warp drive to augment warp field generation for propulsion.

Gravitational Displacement Drive

Also used in the Gravitational Displacement Drive instead of the Oscillating Mercury Core (OMC) when combined with a conventional M/AM reactor system. In this configuration the Lyon field can be controlled and used in conjunction with an existing gravity well the same way the OMC would be used.

Use in Temporal Cores

The substance is used to mediate and contain the Time/Anti-Time reaction which generates temporal energy. The crystals, when saturated with warp plasma, create an artificial gravity well to contain and control the Time/Anti-Time reaction.

Appearance

The crystals shares some attributes with conventional quartz, such as growth pattern and physical structure. They exhibit an orange-red color and are significantly denser than quartz, like quartz they oscillate at a predictable rate when an electro-magnetic field is applied.
