She is a creative woman brought up in a very morally centered household, law-abiding parents who preferred a traditional lifestyle. Her formative years were spent in a loving environment with strong family values and loyalty at their core. She is frustrated easily, an honorable woman but one who holds a deep conflict between her upbringing and core ideas and the situation she now finds herself. She is dutiful toward her masters at Onyx, but inside she's at constant war with herself. Knowing full well that Onyx will kill her if she disobeys she requires constant positive feedback, something they have noticed and use to control her. She has no sense of internal validation but her loyalty and a sense of intense learned helplessness born from difficult years following the outbreak of the war and the attack on her home colony keep her rooted in place. She tends to be people-oriented, cooperative, and desperately craves harmony with those around her. She will lie, cheat, or steal to maintain the foundations of her life and livelihood, knowing she will pay for it later -- hating the drive in her to be kind, compassionate, and honorable to others since to her, it is a weakness.

History
Marian is a young woman who was plucked out of the streets as an orphan in what was once the DMZ during the Dominion War by Onyx and trained as an Operative with several other orphans who were "liberated" at the same time. During this time period several farming communities had been raided and their people killed. Marian was one of the survivors; a survivor whose parents waited for rescue from the Federation, a rescue that never came. She has an extreme amount of anger directed at the Federation, something only fueled by the rhetoric of Onyx. She was taken in by the organization at the age of 6 after having witnessed the Dominion kill her parents who gave their lives to keep her hidden along with several other young children.
Once Onyx applied pressure to the right places, her and the others like her were trained as Operatives. Marian herself was very successful becoming fiercely loyal to the cause and buying the general feel of the propaganda. Early on she learned to not ask too many questions; thus she soaks up what answers she is privy to. During her first missions Onyx taught her to use her body as a tool and use sexuality to gather information, infiltrating locations using sex as a primary motivator for a target. She was further taught the value of sexuality in forming tight bonds with targets and is quite skilled at emotional manipulation. Marian was often paired with a young man from her colony during her training a Roderick Achilles who was a similar age.
The pair developed an extremely passionate and tight bond, as Marian began to acclimate to her new role, she was able to do so more quickly. Roderick came with her at first, growing more and more dark and into the hurting of others with their mutual skills. Early missions where they were paired together showed the two had a knack for exploiting the weaknesses of others, however, it was also noted that Roderick had a harder time accepting these actions. In the heat of the moment he would do as Marian expected, but he was in it for her and not the cause. After a significant portion of time, he finally made a play for her to leave with him, just run away. She denied him, saying she couldn't leave, that they could never make it anywhere else, the rest of the universe would never have her. After that, Roderick's mental state began to quickly deteriorate, she was taken with making sure he would not talk; which was expected to result in his death. However, instead of killing him, she paid to have a procedure called neural stripping performed on him; he would live but it was supposed to wipe his memories entirely. Instead of wiping his memories it left him completely and utterly unstable, unable to remember things for more than a few moments and chaotically unpredictable, he swings wildly from one emotional state to another. Satisfied that he would not be a further threat, Onyx allowed her to commit him to a hospital for the mentally ill the Taylor Hospital on Melina II.
She see's Onyx as her savior, which is why when she was captured by the Romulan Empire at the age of 17 she held steadfast giving nothing away even under intense torture. She lost her left eye during interrogation and was later badly burned on that site during her escape after spending 2 years in captivity. Onyx accepted her back into the fold after her escape, her whereabouts since have been unknown. There are reports that she has turned her efforts (previously focused on seduction and emotional manipulation) to more direct and often violent tasks.
