Knox would regularly drop dark humors or sarcastic remarks but despite all that he has a very choleric type of personality which means he is a natural born leader. He is highly rational, good at spotting problems, and excels at taking charge. These tendencies make him a natural leader who is focused on efficiently solving problems. He is decisive and most of his decisions tend to be correct. When making decisions, Knox places a greater emphasis on objective and logical information. Personal feelings and the emotions of others tend not to factor much into his choices. Knox doesn’t dwell on setbacks. When the wrong choice is made, when something bad happens and his plan fails, he doesn’t ponder on why if there isn’t one, he doesn’t curse the skies on his bad luck. He just brushes it off and keeps marching on. He moves to make things right as quickly as possible and push through unexpected complications.
After all, if there is something to know about life, it’s that it is full of obstacles, and the only way to cross is through.
He is also willing to correct others if he feels like something wrong is going on. His strong will can be uncomfortable for others at times, especially in social situations, because he doesn’t care about the rules of engagement. If something needs to be fixed, then he fixes it. This makes him rigid, unyielding and overwhelming to some people. Knox is not afraid of eye contact. He looks at his enemies like he’s not afraid at all, and he looks at his friends like he knows their deepest secrets. With his eye contact, he’s proclaiming “I’m here, and I’m not afraid for you to see me”.
On social occasions, he can be loud, boisterous and aggressive like the army-bro type.
Knox is someone who speaks clearly and doesn’t rush to provide a response. The first one rushes to provide an answer, stumbles and stutters, and often has to rectify. Knox, however, does no such thing. He stares at the person asking the question, almost like daring them to press him for an answer. Then, after some time, he responds. Sometimes. In the same way that Knox waits before answering, when he does, he does so slowly and clearly. Knox is not necessarily good with emotions, but that does not mean he is intentionally cruel. He is prone to hiding his own emotions and sentimentality, viewing it as a weakness that should not be made known to others. Knox also possesses a self-sacrificing, self-critical nature. He would often struggle with guilt feelings about things that are not his fault or within his control.
Special Abilities
- Cloak
- Becoming partially invisible creates possibilities for ambushes, as well as escaping. Cloaking modules are built to fool a Titan’s optic sensors, which makes a cloaked pilot undetectable to an Auto-Titan and almost undetectable to a piloted Titan. Firing any weapon will cancel a cloak prematurely, but using melee attacks, hacking, wall running.
- Grapple
- Knox can deploy a grappling hook that can attach to walls or ledges. The line retracts, pulling him to the hook’s location. It is great for getting to hard to reach places quickly and easily Rodeo Titans. If he runs below the grappling point, he will swing towards the ground, gaining an increase in speed. The grapple will detach if/when the grapple point leaves his line of sight. Jump jets can be fired while grappling, similar to a double jump. In this way, knox can jump over the grapple point and use it to sling himself forward at a greater speed. Knox cannot fire weapons while being pulled by the Grapple, but he can still use Melee attacks. The Grapple can also be used to pull enemies closer. If he is in midair, he will be pulled towards his target at the same time. This ability can also be used to perform a technique known as a Slingshot. One of the most important parts of using the Grapple is to jump right as the Grapple hits something. This results in him being in the air and already moving as the Grapple begins, making the knox travel much faster, while also allowing him to double jump during the Grapple.
- Holo Pilot
- The Holo Pilot ability deploys a hologram that mimics its Pilots last move, deceiving enemies into believing it is a real enemy. It has two charges, allowing knox to use it twice. It is very effective against Auto Titans or pretty much anyone else, as they will be distracted and will allow him to damage them unnoticed.
- Phase Shift
- This ability allows the knox to become invulnerable and invisible for (5-10 Seconds) 20-30 seconds at a time by entering an alternate dimension. The ability has one charge (Somtimes multiple) . Entering phase shift leaves a temporary ghost image that can be seen by other Pilots or anyone. Uses for this ability include avoiding terminal damage or to travel a short distance without being seen. If knox exits the phase shift inside an enemy grunt, it will instantly kill them. this tactic would be difficult to take advantage of since knox can see the enemy whilst the enemy cannout see him.
Special Skills
- Pilot Training
- while in a Titan, knox can maneuver and fight similarly as if he is on foot, due to his Titan being designed to be an extension of his body. This is, of course, with the exception of the ability to jump, which is instead replaced by the Dash function. Aurora also has a few other differences compared to traditional infantry combat, such as a set of weaponry and equipment. can also be operated whilst he is not actually in it, in “Auto-Titan” mode. It has two modes that he can tell aurora to switch between while he is disembarked: Follow and Guard. Follow mode makes aurora follow him as close as the titan could possibly be. Guard mode will make the Titan defend the position it is at, useful for defending objectives or key locations on a map.
- Enhanced Combat
- Knox, as both a soldier and a pilot has been put through combat certification. Both in his titan and on foot. It felt like military training but it paid off.
Special Equipment
- Jump Kit
- they are small jetpacks that are worn around the waist. They originated in the ship salvage industry. Workers needed a way to quickly navigate through complex geometries with deadly drops and sheer vertical faces. Jump Kits provide a brief burst of thrust that is used to leap to higher locations. They also have a function that adjusts the deceleration on potentially fatal descents to safe levels, allowing Pilots to fall from great heights without injury. Combat Titan Pilots have informally adapted Jump Kits to their own purposes for many years. The Jump Kit enables sustained wall running, improving Pilot maneuverability in combat situations against regular infantry and other Titans, and falling from great heights. Grunts can sometimes be heard discussing jump kits, commenting that the odds of injury while using one are substantially greater than riding a motorcycle.

Background
Mason Knox, Born in 2652; A normal warm day like any other. He was born as the second child of Samantha Knox, a Catholic school teacher, and Morgan Knox, a highly decorated officer in the United States Marine Corps. Though his mother immediately abandoned both of the kids right after his birth. His father resumed all custody, with the signature of his mother finishing the paper. It wasn’t necessarily a good start for a kid. His father was a hardened combat veteran. Military and wars have been the majority of his life for the last 10 years. Due to his father’s military service, Knox grew up on his own while his sister, Claribel, went to boarding school. He took himself to school with the mindset of wanting to make his father proud of him. Though whatever he did, it was never enough. Despite that and not being able to be with Knox most of the time, he always wanted Knox to become better. The only way he knew how to teach was through pushing and high expectations, the only way across is through, thanks to the military. His early childhood was spent in spending time alone outside playing with sticks, walking through the ranch and the light forests that reside in missouri.
It became very obvious that Knox was different from the other kids, he was quick to get picked on by the other kids around the neighborhood, particularly due to him being smaller and much more fragile than the others. The bullying included taking away or damaging his belongings, pushing him off swing sets and injuring him, making fun of him. Though he was quick to get into fights even in elementary school. The first one came over a silver .30-06 pendant necklace that his father had given to him on his birthday before being deployed overseas, which Knox dearly treasured and kept with himself all the time. Knox didn’t have it this time, he straight up jumped on the kid, pushing him to the ground. The first of many, as he entered middle school.
As a preteen in middle school, Knox would meet Richard Small, another boy around his age who was in the same class as him. He quickly took a liking to Richard due to their mutual interests and the boys would soon become friends. The two boys would constantly get into mischief with one another as well as playing your average prank or practical joke. One such incident was Richard convincing Knox to lick a car battery because it would give him pubic hair, this of course resulted in Knox getting shocked from the battery and a funny story to tell at parties. With Richard by his side, Knox would no longer need to worry about or deal with the bullies again due to Richard’s tall and intimidating nature. Teachers loved Knox, everyone else did too. For what reason became unknown, he was just a good kid who didn’t like being picked on.
In his years in high school, it was obvious he was pretty gifted physically, in both his appearance and athleticism. He mostly did sports such as track, gymnastic, field hockey and water polo.
However, in his sophomore year of high school, he decided he wanted to take another route. Along with cheerleading, he decided to take up wrestling, as well as Krav Maga classes outside of school. Doing all this meant he was busy as hell nearly 24/7, but being so busy and having to balance this with his school life built good organizational skills and discipline that would aid him in his military career and when the world fell apart. Along with Richard Small, the boys managed to get through and graduated high school and moved onto the next chapter of their lives. Separated paths, knox had chosen to continue academically by pursuing college degrees in the field of engineering whereas Richard had enlisted in the military straight away.
Knox after graduating highschool signed up for the IMC, being put into the titan pilot program. They scanned his brain and memories but never told him why; he was introduced to Aurora-6872. Who took a high liking to the pilot and would be working together for years to come forward. With many operations and conflicts he was either in his titan or outside of it. Before all of these he was put through many certifications rated by a series of qualifications called “Certifications”, similar to a modern-day driver’s license. These certifications apply in both civilian and military roles, qualifying a him for a specific occupation such as salvage, deep-space search and rescue, shipping, loading, construction or agriculture. However, by far the most highly-sought certification is the Combat Certification, a widely published series of tests that grade a Pilot’s abilities. All Pilots, whether soldiers or civilians, must complete the Pilot Certification Training in order to operate a Titan and cannot establish a neural link unless they earn their certification or the Titan’s emergency protocols engage should their respective Pilots die in combat and a replacement is required.
Pilot Certification Training varies between both use and faction, but ultimately fall under the same basic training guidelines. Potential combat Pilots must first complete the Combat Training before going on to Titan Training, all of which takes place in simulated conditions. Knox passed, even past the combat certification, Though something happened; during operation “Spear-Head” involving breaking into a space station called the Aegis IV occupied by the militia frontier. Knox was still human at this point but an apex predator hired by the militia started killing pilots left and right; it was solely up to Knox to take on ‘Bullseye’ alone. Though was severely injured but killed the apex predator pilot, as his life flashed before him. it all suddenly came to a halt as he woke up again, but something was off but he shrugged it off. Doctors told him that due to his injuries being beyond repair he has been put into some healing gel, which was a lie but he bought it. He was already back into combat, another conflict on an arctic planet; after getting lost he piloted his titan into a cave and that’s the last time he was alive as he was spat out into space by a splice. Aurora-6782 sent out an emergency S.O.S for any IMC frigates or merchant ships to pick up the signal.
