Special Skills
- Combat Control Operator Course and Combat Control School
Trained in the use of multiple types of firearms, from pistols to rifles and AT. Capable of moving quickly under load, James has high endurance when trekking long distances or chasing a target. He is also trained to call in Air Strikes, Air Drops, Take Off and Landing of Aircraft, and act as an RTO.
- Combat Lifesaver Training
James is equipped with a personal infantry first aid kit, consisting of elastic bandages, a tourniquet, multiple quikclot and hemostatic agents, and quick injectors of Morphine and Epinephrine. He is able to apply medical support to himself or anyone else while under stress or combat.
Background
Born to a military family in downtown Phoenix, his childhood could be ostensibly described as uneventful breezing along school, he enlisted straight out of high school at the age of 17. His family had an unbroken tradition of Sailors, James broke the tradition by signing for the United States Air Force, passing Combat Control School he graduated as a Combat Controller being moved into a Special Tactics Squadron.
Deployed after the initial invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan he was commended for 12 years of service in and out of the Hindu Kush and Western Iraq, being transferred to the 24th STS after participating in multiple Combat Operations. His tenure in the 24th Squadron involved multiple missions with JSOC Special Mission Units eventually integrating as an Air Force liaison with the Army’s Combat Application Group.
Finishing multiple tours around Afghanistan and Iraq his squadron commander recommended him for Joint Special Operations Command’s newly formed Supernatural Response Unit working alongside the CIA while working in unit his official dossier states he’s on training duty back in the US.
Equipment
Crye Precision Adaptive Vest System
A lightweight plate carrier designed with maximum comfort and modularity in mind, featuring an internal memory foam harness system and changeable front panels, the plate bags holding Level IV ESAPI Plates that protect up to .30-06 AP Ammunition. Langburg’s loadout features two MBITR pouches for Dualcomm and multiple straps to hold whip antennas, a Front Mag Panel, two Pistol mags, an Auxiliary 5.56 Double Stack pouch, his IFAK, and a back panel holding a AN/PRC-117G or a Water Bladder. Various accouterments like an extra tourniquet and some electrical tape are attached with IR callout patches attached to the front and back
MK18 Mod 1 SOPMOD Block II
Built from an M4A1 the MK18 has a standard carbine length barrel at 10.5”, fitted with MOD 1 accessories such as a crane stock, low profile gas block and the Daniel Defense RIS II handguard. Langburg’s feature attachments from the Block II standard featuring a AN/PEQ-15, Insight WMX-200 flashlight, and a Knight’s Armament NT-4 suppressor, his rifle only differs from the standard by mounting an EOTech EXPS-3 and G33 STS magnifier.
Glock 19 Gen 3
A compact 9mm handgun, the Glock 19 is issued to all members of JSOC. As his sidearm, James outfitted the pistol with a Surefire X300 flashlight, a Trijicon RMR red dot sight, and a mag extension to 17 rounds.
Heckler & Koch M320 GLM
Standard issue amongst most Infantry units within the US Military, the M320 is a compact grenade launcher lobbing 40mm rounds up to 400 meters away, mainly used by James to mark targets with IR Illumination or Color Smoke he can also use it to launch flares or blow through a wall with HEDP. The M320 is usually mounted on the back of James’ rigger’s belt.
