This ability operates much as the name suggests. It allows a person to manipulate the flow of time while concentration and focus lasts. The ability must be focused on specifically and requires that a person not use any other special abilities while using it.
Area of Effect
The effect is limited to the person themselves or one additional person in full contact (the other person must be being carried or being held tightly).
Effects
By altering how time flows around themselves, a person can cause the following:
Time Acceleration / Deceleration
Time can be sped up or slowed down for the person using the ability. This effect is that a person appears to move faster or slower from the perspective of those around them. This can be done as many times as is needed but the person must rest for at least 10 minutes between instances.
Rates
- 4 times / 30 seconds
- 2 times / 60 seconds
Alter Age
The person can alter the age of their own body growing younger or older by a factor of 2. This effect is temporary and lasts for up to 60 minutes. The process is difficult on the body, though requires minimal concentration to maintain, as such it can only be done three times between full sleep cycles (between 6 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep).
Suspend Time
For up to 60 seconds using a persons focused concentration they can completely stop the flow of time around them. This requires complete focus to accomplish. Time does not like to be stopped and forms a resistance to this throughout the day. It can only be done 3 times every 24 hours (regardless of sleep).
Adverse Effects
Mass and force are immutable facts of existence. Time is an intergal part of physical forces, altering time creates hardships on the body, if time is moving at 4 times normal and one hits a wall, they will suffer the effects as if they hit that door at 4 times their normal speed. Similarly tendons, joints, the spine, and skin all can suffer extended damage from altering the flow of time to allow a person to act faster than those around them, the effect often will not be instantaneous but rather they will show as extended wear and tear on the body over a lifetime. This is similar to how athletes will show small tears and damage to their tendons, back, and bones from how hard they push the body.
There is also an exhaustion factor, it takes a great deal of mental energy to use this ability and should be treated as such. It is not easy nor it is simple or trivial to control but rather requires a lot of mental and physical endurance.
