Class XR1 Special Operations Suit

From Solas Tempus DB

This is an experimental armor design developed by Vident Obscura to assist agents in the field and protect them against the harmful effects of Unexplained Artifacts an mitigate some of the impact of psionic and magical energies. The suit is designed as an all around field-operations suit balancing versatility with movement, weight, and key features.

Armor Design

The suit is designed so that it can be worn easily either as a standalone suit that completely covers the wearer or under suitable clothes, it is form fitting designed to tightly wrap itself around the body of the wearer, the construction adapting to the body of the wearer to provide enhanced support over the entire body.

Enhanced Sensors

The digital-eye style sensor array at the front of the face shield of the helmet is enhanced with a series of specially shaped Videns Autem Magia crystal fragments linked together in parallel to the primary sensor pallet which includes:

  • Telescopic 4-8x30 magnification
  • Macro Lens 2x to 20x magnification
  • Passive Night-vision 2000 foot range
  • Thermal-Imaging 3000 foot range
  • Subspace/Temporal Distortion 3000 foot range
  • Light Filters (reduces glare, flare protection)
  • Targeting Display w/Range finder
  • 3D Imaging Processor

The addition of the VIdens Autem Magia crystal allows the sensor to pick up magical and psionic energies from the surrounding area and add that information to the digital signal processor to overlay onto the HUD.

Enhanced Shielding

Along the outside of the suit, deflector shield emitter cords are laid into the suits construction, which provide a personal deflector shield, it is adaptive against conventional EM energies and particle bombardment, the onboard computer is able to manipulate the shield to provide enhanced protection against that which is currently being deflected.

The nano-fiber suit is made up of carbon-tritanium fibers fused together into braided micro-threads which wrap around a silicon core. The silicon core acts as a flexible medium for crushed Aqua Opal Crystal fragments which give the suit a natural magic and psionic resistance. The crystals give the suit not only a natural resistance to magic and psionic energies but also enhance the aura of the wearer giving them an enhanced resistance which the wearer can learn to amplify and manipulate if they too have talent with psionics or magic.

Enhanced Movement

The suits construction allows the fibers to be manipulated by micro-magnetic and electrical fields, core fibers are in place in a framework which the suits onboard computer can use to enhance the persons strength and endurance, providing additional support during strenuous movement taking some of the physical load off of the body itself. This also acts to provide kinetic protection to the armor. All being said the support is not as uniform nor as robust as the bionic and cybernetic supports provided by classes such as the Class 1K Advanced Cybernetic Exoskeleton or Class 1Z Advanced Cybernetic Exoskeleton. Still, it gives a reasonable boost to physical strength, endurance, and speed.

Helmet

The helmet of the suit is modular, designed to be removed when necessary, though removing it does limit the suits detection abilities for non-conventional energy types it does not limit the suits protective abilities against such energies.

Power Source

The suit is powered by a prototype high-output Spacial Variance Reactor, the reactor uses a new design that allows it to pull energy out of deeper in tertiary subspace domains than previously attempted, it is located under the spinal armor at the small of the back along with the suits computer core.

Computer Core

All of the suits processing is controlled through the primary computer core running a modified HAL AI control system coupled with a subspace communications array which is enclosed at the small of the back under the spinal armor with the power source. The computer core controls all of the suits functions designed to anticipate and assist the wearer adapting the armor based on the needs of the wearer at the time.
