Atavist is Drhuvian: energetic, tricky and known for testing the limits and boundaries of others. Were it not for the professionalism expected from a ship AI almost religiously symbolic of safe travels, Atavist would be known for the underhanded and eat-your-own-words attacks the Drhuvs have refined.

But, above all else, Atavist follows protocol. As a ship AI it is imperative to ensure that her crew get through their travels safely, so whether it’s staying quiet and pretending to play dumb or fighting like it were her final chance at salvation, she will ensure her crew, her kin, make it in one piece to their destination.

Special Equipment

Atavist is mainly attached and works through the information systems within the Helpful Harness. However, she cannot fly, pilot or otherwise physically move the ship without being directly supervised by a pilot. She can only be tasked for physical actions.

Background

Atavist is a fragment of a greater and ancient Drhuvian AI central to their civilization. Minted in the twenty-sixth day, fourth-month and one-thousand-two-hundred-sixty-seventh year, this fragment was created to act as a cockpit/ship attendant for the BNF-JS-707. This medium class ship and the fragment of the AI became the personal ship of Drhuvian Hunter Alloy where Atavist has served for half a decade.

Very rarely did Atavist’s time serving Alloy become dangerous. Most travels were routine and boring, though her commander has grown a particular liking to Atavist due to a hard-won wisdom (though now shared among all AI shards) regarding mid-jump failures on a jump drive known for being unreliable and temperamental at best.
