Argent can be aggressive and authoritarian, especially to those who are under her often being told she lacks a conscience. She's often seen as tactless and with a short attention span, getting easily bored though she has a keen understanding of herself and her surroundings. She's a pessimist, having long ago quelled her rebellious streak under the weight of reality. Even though she's very aware of the emotions of others she finds it difficult to let people in. To those exceedingly few people who have her trust, she can be incredibly loving and affectionate, especially to a romantic partner behind closed doors.

Background
Argent was once a slave girl, having been captured by the Orion Syndicate after being a security officer on a civilian transport that was raided and captured. After spending a few years as the pet of rich individuals who bought and purchased her time, the scars of that have permeated her conscious self and though she's accepted her past it still has a haunting quality to it. She remained a slave for about 6 years until her transport ship was captured by a converted Klingon Bird of Prey working classified operations within Klingon territory. She welcomed death, but the Captain of the vessel, one James Graves, took a liking to her. In exchange for herself, he would free her from them. The only price was that she had to give to him what they had taken from her. With very little choice in the matter, she accepted. The things she's done for him and his cause, whatever they may be, have cemented her loyalty to him. He even allowed her to get revenge on those who are kept her captive for so long, criminals all of them, but one after the other she was allowed to train herself through their assassinations. Her taste for blood matured and now while she doesn't crave death and violence, she is quick to use it. Death is a close friend to Argent, and it always will be.
Graves later pulled strings and granted Argent a commission in Starfleet to work at his side after 8 years in his service. When Graves was promoted to Admiral and chose his new ship, he appointed her to be his Executive Officer. She makes sure that he is able to do what he needs to do.
