This page describes all the ranks the server uses and what they mean / how to get them. Some ranks are elected, some are appointed, and some are paid for (using our Patreon).
Elections
Since some ranks are elected, the nomination period begins on the server's anniversary of September 28th, nominations last for 1 week and elections are held at the end of that week. Incidentally, the server was founded on Wednesday, September 28th 2016. For the rank of Seneschal, every year all Seneschal's are cleared from the server prior to the election, there is no guarantee that being a Seneschal in the prior year means one will continue to be one. For the rank of Prior, that rank once granted is not removed unless there is some reason to remove it as determined by the staff.
Administrative Ranks
- Grand Master
- This is an appointed position by the server owner, they are trusted with managing all aspects of the server and have all the authority of the owner when the server owner is not present.
- Seneschal
- This is an elected position trusted with helping players to role play, approving characters, settling disputes, and making decisions about how to apply the rules to a given situation.
Honorary Ranks
These people have authority out of respect for their contribution to the game and their opinions carry weight with the administration.
- Prior
- This rank is both appointed and elected and it signifies that a player has done something to significantly contribute to the construction of one or all of the settings in play. These players have been instrumental to developing the settings are they are right now.
Paid Ranks
The following ranks are paid for using our Patreon account in order to support the server's extended services such as the wiki site, forum, email server, and that kind of thing. We are all very grateful as that helps to pay for the server hosting costs.
- Marshal
- Means that the player has contributed $10 or more per month. We at exceedingly grateful. These players also get some amount of authority in directing story lines and where the game is going to go, they also have more leeway with character approvals.
- Under-Marshal
- Means that the player contributes at least $1 per month. Every bit helps to maintain the services and we are very grateful for the contribution.
Achievement Ranks
These ranks are based on achievements within the server. Such achievements are based on points, which are gained based on the number of sends a person has on the server, such sends do not have to be in-character. They are measured by the Tatsumaki bot's guild scores system. When the bot detects a message from a users, that user gains between 5 and 10 points for it, messages are measured once every 2 minutes by the bot and thus sending a message or 10 messages is only measured once within a 2 minute period.
All of the ranks have been calculated based on the idea of 4 hours a day of activity for a number of months per rank, all of the ranks take a significant amount of time to gain. Guild scores can be found by typing t!top in #electric-dreams to show who the top people are.

Points will also be awarded on the 1st of every month for top 3 contributors to the forum and the wiki. The forum contributions will be based on the number of replies posted during the last month while the wiki is based on a score generated by the wiki which takes into account page creation with number of page edits.
