Background
Vlad was born in Kasimov, Russia Where as a child he worked as a coal miner. When his father was killed in the Crimean war and his brother was conscripted he was sold into servitude as a prize fighter. After being freed by a British soldier he ended up in Britain where he became a Bolshevik revolutionary.
