Background
Nemesis, the android aptly named after the Greek goddess, wasn’t always an android or an assassin. Originally she was a software engineer named Marcus Samson was a brilliant software engineer who had always been fascinated by the potential of advanced robotics and artificial intelligence. One day, while on his way home from work, Marcus was kidnapped and taken to a secret facility by an unknown organization calling themselves the Athena Project.
The Athena Project subjected Marcus to a groundbreaking procedure that transferred his consciousness into a sleek and deadly android body. However, as part of the experiment, they programmed his memories to make him believe that he had always been a female android, a product to be sold to a client.
As Nemesis, Marcus was trained in various combat techniques and strategies to serve as an elite assassin for the highest bidder. The Athena Project kept her in isolation, forcing her to undergo rigorous training and conditioning to become the perfect weapon.
Even with her programing overriding her previous identity, she still retained most of the memories from Marcus’s old life and experience, but it was always masked for the time being, During a final maintenance check before being put on the market, Nemesis vanished from her original world and arrived in a dormant / unconscious state in a new universe.
